Letter from Steven Schroeder, 2011 TAC Chairman

Howdy Ags,

The United States was founded on the principles of freedom, equality, and justice.  Unfortunately, the left has proven their dedication to the cause of fundamentally changing the United States of America.  The founders of this great nation faced the same struggles we face today, and founded this nation as a place where people can be free.  Our founders knew exactly where they stood, and they knew how much it meant to them and the rest of the world.  In the midst of out of control spending, discrimination, attempts to hyper-regulate our society, and other disasters; it’s up to you to decide where you stand.  The few things you have that no one can take away are your beliefs, your morals, and your thoughts.  While what you believe may not be popular; you have to know where you stand and why you stand for what you do.  You have to know - without a doubt - that your beliefs and your morals are the most important things you can ever possess. You have to be willing to defend them with all you have.  As the left continues to fundamentally change America, stay true to yourself and educate yourself in the truth.

Texas A&M is thought to be one of the most conservative universities in the nation. However, it is being administered in such a way that undermines and tries to erase our history as a conservative, military school.  While much of the student body shares conservative beliefs, they are underrepresented, discriminated against, and flat out ignored by the university administration.  Because of this, the Texas Aggie Conservatives is dedicated to activism and making our voice heard on campus.  We can’t sit around and wait for someone else to so something for us. After all, if the most conservative university in the nation isn’t going to do something, who will?  I ask that you stand with TAC in our fight for the preservation of conservative values.

The Texas Aggie Conservatives is a group of students who don’t take lightly their pledge of allegiance to the American flag and all it stands for.  By joining the Texas Aggie Conservatives, you are not alone in the fight to preserve the America we hold dear.  TAC has had many victories in the fight for conservative values, and has even made national headlines; but the fight doesn’t stop here.  Conservatives are finally starting to stand up, and we must continue to stand together and support one another in the fight for justice.

Because of our dedication to activism and our willingness to defend the conservative cause, we offer more leadership positions than any other group on campus.  If you are a dedicated worker who realizes that conservatism is no longer politics as usual, but rather a way of life that we’re about to lose; we encourage you to inquire about leadership.  This applies to freshman too!  The main goal of our officers is to train members to be leaders, to be an effective tool in the fight for the truth, and it’s never too early to start.  If you are interested in an officer position in TAC, please contact me or visit the website for more information.

As Ronald Reagan said, “Above all, we must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women. It is a weapon our adversaries in today's world do not have.”  I encourage you to take on the toughest challenges in today’s society with valor, and not let the lives of those who have died for the freedoms we enjoy go in vain.  Take a stand for freedom.  They did.

Ags, stand up for what is right and remain steadfast in your commitment to your own values.  As long as there is one person willing and able to do so, we have not lost.  Stand with each other, support each other, and never waver.  For our future, and the future of America long after we are gone, I encourage you to join the Aggie Conservatives family and help restore Texas A&M, Texas, and the United States of America to the truths and values upon which we were founded.  People say America’s ‘Golden Age’ has come and passed; I believe that with the support and dedication of people who still believe in the American dream, we can show the rest of the world what freedom really means to Texas A&M, Texas, and the United States of America.  Please feel free to contact me for any reason, and I will be glad to assist you.  Gig ‘em Ags!

For Liberty and Freedom,
Steven Signature
